Q: When some is accused of jaadoo (black magic) in Islam for no good causes what can a Muslim do to the accuser?
A. Nowadays accusing others of making Jaadoo has become very common. The hadith warns that one who accuses another of an act that he or she is not guilty of has eaten the flesh of that Muslim brother, and will be made to eat the same from the fire of Jahannam. Unfortunately, unscrupulous ‘Aamils’ tell their patients that a certain person has afflicted them or is the cause of the affliction. It cannot be said with certainty who was responsible for the jadoo. Most times people use mere guesswork or conjecture to find out the identity of the culprit. But that is not Shar’ee grounds for an accusation of this nature. Therefore, mentioning names is not permissible. Many a times this causes families to break up and become enemies whereas the reality is something else. Nothing can be done to the accuser. We advise that you leave such a person to Allah Ta’aala. Thereafter make Du’aa that your name is cleared, truth triumphs and harmony returns.
