Q: Can an animal that is very ill with no hope of recovery be killed?
A: It is permissible to kill an animal that is dying or is in much pain or distress (without hope of survival). This should be done by slaughtering. (Hashiya Ibn Aabideen). If any other form of mercy killing is used, that will be also be permitted. Allah knows best.
