Q: Is it permissible for men and woman to discard their hair, nails etc.down the drain? We live in a flat and have no garden to bury the hair.
A: If nails, hair etc., could not be buried then the next option is to wrap them into a clean cloth or paper and dispose of this in the dirt bin. It should not be thrown down the drain or into the toilet, for this causes disease according to some Ulema. (Al-Fataawa al-Hindiyyah)
