Imaams of haramain in praise of their goverment.

Q: What is your comment on the statements made by Shaikh Sudais of Makkah in his Ju-
mu’ah Khutba, wherein he praised Muhammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown prince, refer-
ring to him as a “man of vision” and a “reformer”. (Question shortened)

A: One can only pity the Imams of Makkah and Madinah. They are under tremendous pres-sure to fall in line with the policies of the Saudi Regime, regardless of whether those policies are in accordance with Shariah or not. Those who have spoken against even one haraam, un-Islamic policy, have either been imprisoned or placed under house arrest. I certainly don’t envy the position the Haram Imams find themselves in. Notwithstanding such challenges, there is utterly no justification for supporting falsehood and singing the praises of the one who
spearheads evil. Clearly, the fitnah that MBS has given rise to is falsehood in its extreme. This is no reformation; instead, it’s total transformation of Deen. It is the transmutation of Islamic Values that Rasoolullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) predicted would come towards the end of this world. One hadeeth states: The greatest fear for my Ummah are leaders who mis-guide.” )Saheeh Bukhari and Muslim) May Allah protect the Ummat from such misguided leaders.
