Q: I bought a restaurant that sells alcohol and intend to stop selling alcohol but have found a company selling non alcoholic beer, wine, etc with .02%-.05% volume, considering spirit vodka is 40% vol. Is it halal for me to sell this to customers as they are accustomed to drinking alcohol so offer them alternative and will not get drunk from drinking this for this reason it is classified as no-alcoholic?
A. Alcohol and all intoxicants are completely forbidden in Islam, irrespective of the quantity consumed.
Almighty Allah states in the Holy Qur'aan: O Believers! Verily wine is filth of Shaytaan, so abstain totally from it; (Surah 5: 90) And: “They ask you about wine and gambling; Say: In it is there is great sin…. (Surah 2:219)
