Q: Some people say, if you want to request something, you should make Dua directly to Allah, but others say you should give hawala of some Wali (pious person) likeKhawaja Moinuddin, etc. What is the correct way for Dua?
A. It is permissible to ask from Allah through the Waseelah (Not Hawaala) of a pious person; e.g. One can say: O Allah! Accept my Du’aa through the Waseelah of Khwajah Mu’eenuddeen Chishti’
It is not permissible to direct the Du’aa to the pious person himself. All Du’aas will be directed to Allah and if one wishes, a Waseelah of a pious person can be added, but it is not necessary to do so.
Allah Ta’aala knows best.
